It is self-limiting, generally more than 900mg at a time and you just pee it out.
For sleep, a small part of the population does find it effective for that.
When I first started Neurontin my speech was slurred and it was more sleep-inducing. Today, its only an adjunctive to the Valium I take, as I don't believe by itself it is powerful enough for my particular disorder alone.
Lyrica is much more powerful than Neurontin but unfortunately I can't take it because I'm one of the 10% of people who get blurry (20/20 to 20/40) vision with it. Otherwise I've heard good reports about Lyrica and it probably otherwise is similar in regards to Neurontin as it is pretty close molecularly.
