First of all don't label yourself in a pejorative fashion. You'll just make yourself miserable and what is the point of that. And if you think you have problems, you're in good company. I fight Seroquel with all I have.

Xenical has some... problems. It has the ability to soil yourself because it literally dumps out 30% of the fat in your body. Do take notice of what happens over the course of treatment.

The best treatment is natural treatment, and that is hard exercise, I'm afraid to say. I go to a gym, and that's not to be any hardbody although I have gained a little muscle mass.

But you don't have to go to a gym. Getting out of the house for 30 minutes to an hour each day doing some fast paced walking or jogging will contribute towards weight reduction.

Also, you may have to go on a restricted diet. Since medication has brought your metabolism down, so must the intake go down, and I know that's easier said than done.

There are many sites where you can go and get a BMR (basal metabolic rate), which is the amount of calories that you must maintain intake to prevent loss

e.g.

http://health.discovery.com/tools/calculators/basal/basal.html

Now you will have to probably modify this calorie rate by say 30% to account for what the medication has done, so if it says 2100 calories, you will have to restrict yourself to 70% of that. That is the only real other option you have to maintain a healthy weight balance.

There is also the BMI, which is available everywhere on the net, which measures your body mass index, although that is less useful than the basal metabolic rate.

So its food intake, and some daily exercise that will have to be done to maintain a fight against what unfortunately some medications do to people.

Finally, I would avoid over the counter substitutes for what is good nutrition and excercise as I outlaid. Yes, there are diet "pills" people take, that don't contain ephedra but do contain precursors and lots of agents that have caffeine and caffeine like alkaloids in them. You would not want them for your heart.

Second is the Hoodia craze, which unless you get the most expensive pills on the market are useless as the concentration and in fact the actual active ingredients may be hogwash. As for the actual true active ones -- well, you'd have to ask the Bushmen in Africa. And its way too soon to say whether it would affect the heart or not.

So, stay away from fad pills which just load up with guarana and ginseng and dozens of other caffeine and alkaloid containing herbs. They're murder on your heart. Don't go there.

Do the homework I noted on your BMR and adjust it downward and try to keep in a range. Take an average day and mark what you are actually eating. People rarely realize the amount of calorie intake. Consult a nutritionist if you need to on referral from your psychiatrist or doctor.
