It is ironic, and I came to that conclusion very quickly upon meeting him for a second time after a year before when I shadowed him. I barely knew about ADHD at the time, but was certain that he had it, was medicated before, and not know. Nonetheless, I've always had enormous respect for him just because he's very compassionate.
I probably could ask about trying Adderall again. I have taken it before. He prescribed it 3 years ago. I only took it a few times and then stopped because my mother disapproved.
My PA prescribed it about a year and a half ago, along with Klonopin. I took them both for about 5 days. The Adderall caused major peaks and valleys, hot flashes, aggitation, and weird out of body feelings. I have a slightly depressing reaction to Klonopin. Each day my mood sunk lower and lower, until I spiraled into the quickest a worst depression ever. I went on Effexor to fix this.
I don't think my doc looked in my chart, he never does. I had to remind him that I'd been on Adderall before, when I was telling him that I wasn't doing well on Concerta. I told him that Adderall helped me study, but cashes ups and downs and flushing and chills. I didn't even throw in the depression. His response was, OK, we don't want you going through that again, so he went with Ritalin LA.
Who knows, I could try Adderall again and do just fine. I react differently to meds all the time, due to body chemistry, life circumstances, and other meds.
I really could care less about being about to study or concentrate or go to school or organize my daily life and such. I'm about to drop out of school from enormous anxiety.
