personally, i dislike seroquel, the sedation is mainly due to histamine release, though its dopamine antagonism can help during a manic or schizo phase.

parnate/seroquel combo gave me the worst hypotension.
i couldn't get up from a sitting position w/out first bending over, and acclimating my bp. or else pass out on the floor.

i think seroquel is an overpriced alternative to benzo's; at non anti-psychotic doses. at doses below 50mg, one might as well take diphenhydramine; which are both for me extremely unpleasant, and their effects on the peripheral nervous system idosyncratic. though diphenhydramine is contraindicated with maoi's due to "bizarre behavior".

seroquels main appeal is the low propensity for eps or tardive dyskinesia, and it does not appear as habit forming. as far as an anti-psychotic; its usefull, as a mood stabilizer, i find it questionable.
