I tried the same thing with Ambien when my Klonopin scripts were terminated by my doctor. I know what you're saying nolegirl, but remember many benzos prescribed for daytime anxiety have hypnotic action and people here are commonly taking benzos more potent than Ambien (such as Klonopin/Xanax) all throughout the daytime in doses in excess of the equivalent of 10mg Ambien. Some of them do seem to be accident prone and befuddled, which raises wider questions about the safety of daytime/long acting benzo use in general.
I often had blurred/double vision soon after taking each dose and on two occasions I had hypnagogic hallucinations, so I don't personally think it's not a safe med to be taking during the daytime. It's short half-life of 2 hours could also be problematic as tolerance develops.
