In reply to Cymbalta AND Prozac?, posted by scratchpad on April 19, 2007, at 13:10:35
I don't know about taking Prozac with Cymbalta, but I would be concerned about serotonin syndrome since both have an effect on serotonin.
Calcium is also supposed to be good for PMS. Casteberry (Vitex) is another herbal supplement that can help with PMS. I had read an article recently in a women's mag about the benefits of coconut water during PMS. Another herbal that is apparently quite good is MACA.
I hope you find some relief soon. As a fellow-PMS sufferer, PMS is a real drag :-( Nothing worse than feeling moody, irritable and anxious for 10 days each month, with the exception of dealing with the aftermath of PMS-induced moodiness, irritability and irrationality.
Take care.
> I've been experiencing increasingly severe PMS, and I know that Prozac is frequently prescribed. My main symptom that I experience is a 10-day bout of irritability that is just ridiculous! I already am on 60mg of Cymbalta, for BPII. Can both medications be used at the same time? Should the Cymbalta be helping, maybe at a higher dosage? I already suffer from GAD as it is, and have been using .5mg xanax for that.
