> InesOkay I just had my thyroid checked and it's fine. In some cases a screwed up thyroid could cause psych problems. From what I've read chronic stress causes adrenal fatigue which affects the thyroid which can cause depression. So in those cases correcting the adrenals and thyroid might help with the depression. But stress still has to be controlled probably with meds. The problem is finding any doc that has any idea about adrenal fatigue and how to treat it. Most laugh at the notion and do not acknowlegege it even exists.
BUT adrenal fatigue must be corrected to properly adjust thyroid. If your doc doesn't address the adrenals than thyroid med adjustment will make you jittery. Apparently cortisol affects how your body reacts to t3 and t4.
