No, I've never tried a tricyclic.
The Nardil started to kick in at 60 MG, but I didn't feel a big effect until 75 MG.I had/have more side effects then I can count... dizziness, weakness, fatigue (cured by Provigil), constipation, lack of appetite/weight loss, difficulty urinating, occasional headaches, blurred vision when reading, insomnia (fixed with seroquel), sexual problems, and low blood pressure.
However, all the side-effects, while annoying, were manageable. I've been on two drugs that I've had too quit because the side-effects were so severe, and if this is the case with you and Nardil, don't force yourself to do something that makes you utterly miserable.
