I always ask questions about how they define success, how long they try meds for, what sorts of things they look for in making decisions about whether or not a med will work out, and what they do about side effects. Those are usually the most important for me.
The big one for me, is that I've had doctors in the past try to RAISE doses when I tell them that something isn't working, or that the side effects are too bothersome. Therefore, I ask a fair number of questions about that.
In your case, I guess it's probably best just to ask if they feel comfortable prescribing benzos... I would. Then again, all the doctors I've seen have been fine offering up benzos, so that might just be a regional thing here...
Good luck, both in finding a doctor and in your move.
