I've never heard anyone say that Fred, people usually say ADs (particularly SSRIs) make them feel flat, numb and emotionally detached - like a clockwork orange. As you've pointed out, feeling flat and empty is a symptom of depression for many people. Fortunately MAOIs work differently and make you feel like a normal, functioning human being again, as do opiates and some other tightly controlled (and 'obsolete') pharmaceuticals. I think they're the real deal.
