Parnate sleep deprivation + AD impact (?)

Posted by sophia04 on June 16, 2007, at 4:39:52

I've been taking Parnate (60mg) for 5 weeks now, have experimented with dose time, sleep aids (lunesta, ativan, seroquel, benadryl), etc. and have found the parnate-induced insomnia to be essentially treatment-resistant.

The thing is, the sleep deprivation is so all-encompassing that I'm not able to recognize if I'm gaining any antidepressant benefit yet. I feel irritable and completely insane most of the time as I'm functioning off 1 -3 hours a sleep/night.

Is it possible that if I get this insomnia thing under control, there may be some AD benefits waiting for me? Or does it sound like I should move on to another drug. My options are getting smaller unfortunately as I've tried most.

Thanks,
Sophia
