The effective dose for depression is usually about 60mg to 100mg/day. Most people start at a lower dose (eg. 10mg or 25mg/day) and increase gradually over a period of about two weeks. Doses above 100mg per day are not normally necessary but a few people may need up to 150mg.....or very occasionally more.
