I didn't really have much of a problem withdrawing from Paxil. It was uncomfortable but not unbearable. Effexor on the other hand... I seriously thought I was going to die. Uncontrollable sleeping, horrible dreams that were so twisted and scary I didn't want to sleep, I couldn't eat, I couldn't think straight or even type well, I hit every key but the one I wanted and I cried a lot. But, this was going off cold turkey, I never went off Paxil cold although I should have tapered more slowly. I eventually disregarded my horrible pdoc's instructions to stop Effexor cold and start Prozac, and tapered down slowly. However, I might add, part of the reason I had so much trouble with Effexor was because I have BP2, and it's not so good for that. Neither is Prozac, which was awful also, but that's another story. :D
