yeah, from what I understand, the atypicals can cause D2 upregulation and occasionally cause "supersensitivity psyhosis" as a result, where the increased desnity of D2 makes pre-existing psychosis worse upon withdrawal of the drugs (or even during ongoing treatment sometimes). Also...people who have never before been psychotic can be made psychotic through sensitization, so its kind of disturbing that non-psychotic depression,bipolar, etc. is being treated routinely with atypicals.
Personally, I think using any neuroleptic for anxiety is a bad call. Benzos are safe, and with proper monitoring even people with substance abuse histories can use them, even for extended periods of time.
