Is 30mg considered a standard dose, or do most people go up to 45mg (it seems I've done best at slightly lower dosages on medications)?

It seemed to take no time at all to lose the slight muscle tone I had gained, and it was unthinkable that I try to take on any exercise, seeing as I had a hard time just staying awake between morning and night.

I'm going to see how thing progress this week; take a walk in the evenings if my body allows, and then if I can maintain some alertness and stay conscious during daylight hours, I'll undertake some more rigorous exercise to get firmed up.

I'd love to just drink some high-octane coffee and get on with it (whatever it is), but I'm jittery enough as it is. Finding the balance between wakefulness, having some energy to get some very basic tasks accomplished, and the heart-thumping discomfort of anxiety is nasty. For this reason, I think that stimulants aren't a good idea for me. I had a short trial on Provigil a few years ago and found it really unsuitable.

Hey ClearSkies,If you have a soft bipolar II diagnosis, have you tried any mood stabilizers in the past? I take Lamictal, been on it for a very long time with excellent results. It keeps anxiety/fatigue at bay that I would have on antidepresant monotherapy. How long have you been taking the Remeron? Hopefully, the fatigue will fade the longer you are on it. I know that higher doses of rememron 45mg and above, the more activating it is and weight gain is less compared to lower doses. What's really important is that you are sleeping well on it. It has a good track record for great and restful sleep. It's really important to get out and get moving with exercise to help with the weight gain, fatigue and anxiety you are having. Remeron is also low with sexual side effects, which is a PLUS compared to the other antidepressants. I also have SAD, so I will probably have to increase my Effexor soon to 300mg. Was able to lower dose this summer. I am considering adding Remeron instead of another 150mg of Effexor. The reason is that I can't stand the sexual side effects at higher doses. Keep us posted with updates on how you are doing.
