I had the same response. I think I read one of the possible side effects was "inner tension" which made me laugh a little because that was exactly it for me.

The second time I started taking it I took it in conjunction with a benzo for the first week or so then tappered the benzo and kept taking the Stablon.

For me that provided much better results then I expected. Once the benzo had cleared I could take the Stablon and I did seem to be getting a anxiolytic effect without the previously experience inner tension.

To the original poster I wonder how long you've been taking tianeptine? It's possible that the uncomfortable effects will fade as you adjust.

If you're determined to try it I and don't feel like you can deal with the anxiety I would recommend talking to your doctor about a short term prescription for a decent benzo. Maybe it will work.
