I've been on Lamictal for over a year.
Have had side effects mentioned here and elsewhere on the net, of, bad short-term memory loss, inability to remember common words, typing totally wrong words in a sentence even when I'm thinking the correct word and fuzzy thinking
(kind of a heavy head), also lethargy.
This was really interferring with my ability to work, which I am doing for the first time in years. (a bookkeeper NEEDS to be able to think and remember numbers)BUT IT DID HELP MY BIPOLAR MOODS.
I've tried to cut down slowly, to stop the side effects, and my memory and loss of words have greatly improved.
BUT ........... whenever I forget to take my dose, I experience bad flu-like symptoms and dizziness ........ sounds a little like SSRI withdrawal symptoms to me (which I didn't have,
but Effexor withdrawal symptoms were horendous)Stupid bipolar.....meds are always bad one way or another....mood stabilizers often leave me with no mood at all.....miss the highs and feeling good.
