>I dread medication changes more than trips to the dentist. They fill me with terror of what new side effects might be in store, or worse, how I might feel if they don't work as intended. I put it down to having had a particularly unsympathetic pdoc for a long stretch who pretty much told me to suck it up and take another pill. Who was followed by the pdoc who didn't even suggest any different medications, but instead said that ECT was the next logical choice of treatment. (Visual of me crying in the car all the way home.)
Now I have a pdoc I trust - but my bad experiences with medications in the past have made me shy away from being adventurous of new meds. Right now I'm studiously filling in a mood chart every day (bo-ring!!) so we can determine if indeed I need to be on a mood stabilizer. What a novel idea! So far the record shows that I do not. And what a relief that is to me.
