Remeron/mirtazapine weight question

Hi, I hear that Remeron is associated with increased appetite and weight gain due to its antihistaminergic effects.
My question, is the weight gain a result of the increased appetite? Or is it similar to SSRI-induced type weight gain where diet doesn't seem to matter?
I guess, what I want to know is, anyone who gained weight on Remeron even when there were NO diet/exercise changes?
