Hi,
Most people will need some kind of medication for insomnia when taking Parnate. I took 50mg of Seroquel combined with 2mg of clonazepam during my trial on Parnate.I wanted to switch from Nardil to Parnate because of the weight gain on Nardil. I lost weight on Parnate.
I had pretty serious afternoon somnolence while on Parnate. Many times I would end up taking two hour naps.
Parnate seemed to be working fairly well for my depression but unfortunately I had a rare spontaneous hypertensive episode. So, I had to go back to Nardil. Be careful with your food and medications while on Parnate. Hypertensive episodes are more common on Parnate than other MAOIs.
