i gained a lot of weight very quickly, (110lbs in 2 1/2 years), and was prescribed wellbutrin. i had horrible side effects from this drug including anxiety and severe light sensitivity. i was/ am in so much pain every day. my eyeballs, back, shoulders, muscles, hips, joints,... whatever,... it hurts so much. the doc prescribed xanax to help the anxiety,... (which so super helps), but the other problems were so severe that she changed my medication. she gave me samples of Cymbalta. she gave me a weeks worth of a low dosage and a weeks worth of a higher dosage. well,... within 30 minutes of taking the first pill i felt so, so, so great!!! my back, hips, eyes didn't hurt and i felt happy! i didn't know that could happen from one single pill, but it did. however, within 6 hours of taking that one and only Cymbalta, i was cowering in bed, under the covers, and my heart pounding so hard i was sure i could see it bursting through my rib cage. my husband's sister- in- law is a nurse, so we called her,... for some reason she had never even heard of Cymbalta and didn't know what to tell me to do. we had no insurance and decided to go to the local pharmacy. she, as well, had no idea what to tell me to do. she recommended i go ahead and take my xanax, and then take my blood pressure on the machine and come back and tell her the results. i don't remember the results of the machine,... but i do remember that my chest hurt for a week after that. when i called the doctor the next morning, i got the voice mail and repeated what had happened the night before. the nurse picked up my phone call during my message and said to me, "DO NOT TAKE ANOTHER DOSE,... COME IN HERE AS SOON AS YOU CAN SO WE CAN CHECK YOU OUT".
i can't find anything online that talks about Cymbalta causing heart stress. why would the nurse have freaked out so much? also, i SO SO SO miss the way that the Cymbalta made me feel. should i try it again? or am i going to risk a heart attack?
