Hi Michael (and others),I know this thread is a few years old, but I was wondering if I could ask you some questions regarding your experience with Mirapex and Deprenyl/Selegiline. In some 2003 threads, you talked about Mirapex' efficacy for you, but in a 2004 thread you started, you were off Mirapex and instead having lots of success with Deprenyl. Could you tell me why you went off the Mirapex?
My symptomology is somewhat similar to yours, but predominantly anhedonia/apathy. I had been trying unsuccessfully to get my pdoc to prescribe Deprenyl, so I resorted to ordering it from overseas instead. While waiting for the overseas shipment, I managed to get another pdoc to write me a script for Mirapex. Ironically, the Deprenyl arrived in the mail the same day I picked up the Mirapex (this was yesterday.)
So now I'm trying to decide how to proceed. I'd already started the Mirapex .5mg/day, but I decided yesterday to experiment with 5mg Deprenyl (Jumex brand) anyway. Within an hour I definitely felt a significant mood lifting effect from the Deprenyl. Same thing with 5mg Deprenyl this morning.
I know you mentioned it took 4 days to feel anything from the Mirapex, but which turned out better for you? I'd rather not have to take both concurrently long term unless necessary.
I would greatly appreciate any input you may have for me.
