Clomipramine withdrawal

Posted by binarywoman on December 9, 2007, at 10:37:45

My son (24yrs) is refusing to take his clomipramine for OCD because he's worried that the capsules are made of bovine products and he's going to get Mad Cow Disease. He's currently on 100mg a day and is going cold turkey.

I found tablets available in Canada but not in this country and there's a veterinary tab made by Novartis but they claim it's unsafe for humans. I'm following that up.

Has anyone gone thru a clomipramine withdrawal like this? I'm worried and I need to know what to expect.

Thanks,
Karen
