I believe the best thing to do is to get a complete physical. It could be the meds, it could be something else.
I was exhausted and had joint pain for the past year and a half. I was tested for a whole bunch of things during that time and they thought I had Fibromyalgia. It got really bad January 2006. I got a new gp and had a complete physical. He did an Electrocardiogram. He found out that I had tachycardia (a fast heartbeat).
Immediately I was sent across the street to a cardiologist and I was told that I had Ectopic Atrial Tachycardia. Through attempts at treatment it was found that it's a chronic condition for me. The heart beats too fast from a locus other than where it's supposed to and thus it beats inefficiently. Therefore I wasn't receiving enough oxygen in my body. It made me exhausted and I hurt every time I would walk more than a few blocks. I felt like I was 80 and I'm only 37.
Well, they tried a couple of catheter ablations and they didn't work. Now I'm on Sotalol, which is a beta blocker and an anti-arrhythmic drug that keeps my heart rate within a normal range. I'm doing better, I have better energy and I have less pain. It's amazing what having a good heartbeat and getting enough oxygen in the limbs can do.
And I thought it was my medication that caused the heart condition. In fact, it did not. I had symptoms before Cymbalta and I definitely have an Ectopic Focus that indicates that this is no side-effect.
So, I hope your issue is less serious and not chronic, and that it's a simple fix. At least get checked out by a couple of doctors if you don't get any real answers. It took me almost two years to find out what was really going on.
