He's told me to take 50mg in a single dose at night. (I'm also on 45mg of Mirtazapine - also taken in one single dose at night - which I have been taking for around six weeks now.)

Should I really be taking this drug in a single dose at night if the action of the drug only last 12 hours?? Surely I won't feel any benefit of the drug during the day, if this is the case??

Few prescribed psychoactive substances have any major effects after two days save for things like benzodiazepines and barbiturates and sleeping agents, etc. Maybe antibiotics and vaccines do too as well, though they're largely not psychoactive, just an example of agents.

Well don't take what you read on the net to be true always because Seroquel actually has a half life of only 6 hours, but has many years of efficacy in patients for one nightly dose to last an entire day. It takes probably about one to two weeks, maybe more depending on the individual, to feel anything in particular because a plasma level has to build up (the 6 hours is not the important part, its your blood level of it) and several months to gain its full relief.
