and now, I appreciate them. Really.
I'm taking Klonopin, Ambien, and Abilify and my life has never been better (although, truth be told, I don't always take abilify everyday). My thoughts are more organized and I'm better able to function in day-to-day life. I'm becoming less of a recluse, and I may actually finish school and (gasp) live up to at least some of my potential. So this is a sort of a happy-ending med story, although there's room for improvement (and I'm just now back on meds, so its more of a "thank god he's not so off-the-wall crazy anymore" med story).
I was wondering, for instance, if anyone has taken seroquel WITHOUT weight gain. I've heard that ramping up the dose can reduce drowsiness; is the same true of weight gain? Or is the weight gain something that always goes hand-in-hand with seroquel? I was also wondering if anyone has ever taken hydroxyzine (atarax, vistaril) WITH a benzo. Everything I've seen on hydroxyzine makes it seems like an alternative to benzos...what I'm looking for is just a little more anxiolytic action, but w/o having to go up on my Klonopin dosage. So, basically, I figure my two options would be switch from Abilify to Seroquel OR add in some hydroxyzine. My shrink seems to think adding in propranolol is a good option; I may take him up on that one. Anyone want to weigh in?
