I would say this, yes. I think finding peace of mind has to come in an authentic way- it can't be 'pushed' through desperately seeking answers from others- ie. psychologists. And I feel that psychology should not really exist as a profession. Most psychiatrists in Australia are highly medically orientated these days, they find medication the only way for many pyschiatric syndromes.
At this point in time I think this is fair. I DO believe most psychiatric illness represents aberrant brain biochemistry, often due to trauma (mostly in youth)
But, then they still have to send the patient to a psychologist to treat the syndrome (within the hospital system here) So they are acting in contradiction to their own position!
As the saying goes "You cant talk to illness"!
