> Example 2: Today I woke up with my common confliction of wanting to do something but no motivation to do it. Feeling empty and alone even though I have friends I can call. I decided to take a .5mg of fast acting xanax. After about 20 min I actually had some motivation. I didn't feel as down & crazy about how to pass my day.

> Are these common issues for people with depression?I recently found out I'm Bipolar II, not depressive. I had noticed that taking a large (2.5-3 mg) dose of Klonopin, another benzo, that I would feel better for a long time.
Apparently it was effectively treating hypomania or mixed-episodes. I have never heard about it being used like this intentionally.
But if you're having "crazy thoughts" you might want to see someone good at diagnosis and rule out a bipolar disorder, since (in my very limited knowledge) it's treated with fully or partially different drugs than depression and anxiety.
