New here. Pretty over it (not the forum, the meds). Against my better judgement I went back on the "new Nardil" because I felt I had no where else to turn. After 20 plus years on the old Nardil (which worked after a grueling trial period), found out they changed Nardil. GREEAAT. Well, doc talked me into it & I gave it a shot (3 months) modifying on my own after getting nothing out of it except being tired. Have been on all the SSRI's, Tricyclics, you name it until, long ago, discovered Nardil. This new stuff is definitely different (& lame, might I add). Went thru 7 ECT sessions (about 7 yrs ago) that did nothing for me except delete memories. Depression did not improve. What now? Back to Parnate? I have not tried the Cymbalta because I had a friend that took it & all he did was throw up (not an option for me). I didn't see anyone mention here about the old Nardil's side effects in realtion to sleeping (could've missed it, I admit). They started me out at a whopping 90mg & my blood pressure dropped so severely that when I would stand up I would pass out. Nightmares were unbelievable (should've written 'em down & made an AWESOME new horror movie about them). Finally found a doc who had written articles about the old Nardil & got me straightened out. Now it's gone. Have spent weeks in psych wards & months in therapy to no avail. Most people there had a REASON for being depressed. Not me. Brought up in Brady Bunch household, no incest, nothing. Have a dr's appt on FRI to let him know that the "New Nardil" had indeed changed because I couldn't even cry on the "old Nardil". Any suggestions out there from someone who's been thru the exact same thing? Thanks for any & all support/recommendations.
