to much of a good thing

hello im new to the site and would be pleased for your help. iv,e been in depression an anxiety most of my life.am adicted to 4mg of ativan or loz whatever you want to call it.at a time i have been on 8mg a day an drank brandy to self med.now im stable on 4 mg an ok with that. my main concern is i am on 120mg of cymbalta to try to hit the core of my anxiety. i dont trust or like my doc he put me on 60mg an straight to 120mg i sleep okbut why the big jump.why not 80 or 90mg
