I was prescribed Neurontin for cervical spine pain and now also for low back pain with physical therapy. It helped me, but I had to take 900 mg. I think and had terrible extra dry mouth. I have not taken it in awile, but the sports medicine doc jut prescribed it again and said to take 300 mg. per evening. I have also used a lidoderm patch for low back pain, and it worked wonderfully well until I had the pain shooting down my leg. For that the sports med doc gave me a shot in the sacrum. It took the nerve pain away but not all the pain and why I am now taking Neurontin.
Try it at least. If it hadn't been for Neurontin before I needed to get cervical spine surgery I probably would have blown my brains out I was in so much pain. It is sedating, though, and so I have mostly taken it at bedtime.
