I am being treated with muscle relexants, Klonopin and Zofran which has been shown to be of the greatest help with it. All the antipsychotics except for Clozaril can cause tardive dyskinesia which can occur at any time and be masked as it is occuring and then emerge full blown. If you even suspect you have tardive dyskinesia then have your psychiatrist send you to a movement disorders specialist or there is also a potential of experimental medications. I am in a study for an experimental antipsychotic, glycine that is a glutamate antagonist that cannot create movement disorders and promotes a full recovery. Geodon can and will cause tardive dyskinesia in time. The sleep disruption could be tardive myoclonus or tardive akathesia which can appear epilepsy like as I have them and they create severe insomnia. I've never heard of any medical reports of tardive dyskinesia created by Lamictal however as that's not an antipsychotic. But please if you read this have your psychiatrist refer you to a movement disorders specialist and also they can do a sleep study to figure out what is going on and as well do an EEG to rule out epilepsy. And for anyone reading this the glycine study, the tardive psychosis study and the now still experimental use of Zofran for tardive dyskinesia are being studied by a trained psychopharmocolgist and the information I provided was from him and other medically factual sources as well.
