Hey everybody.
I haven't been on for a while. In the interim I have been diagnosed with Bipolar II. I was started off on Lamictal, which I've titrated up to 100 mg. Afterwards, the doctor added Wellbutrin XL. I started off on 150 mg, and then doubled the dose a week later. I also take Seroquel (25-75 mg) as needed for sleep. And last, but not least, 1 tablet of Cerefolin NAC in the morning.
I'm having another episode. It's either a depressive, or a mixed one. Whatever the case, the mood stabilizer is not doing its job. I'm afraid to stop the Wellbutrin, because I might feel even worse than now. I'll call my p-doc in the morning. But...
I was just wondering. If the doctor decides to add another medication, should I bring up Nimotop? Out of all the Ca-antagonists tested for bipolar, it's the most efficacious. Since it's selective to the CNS, it is also less likely to cause hypotension than the others at the therapeutic dose.
Has anyone been prescribed Nimotop for bipolar disorder? At what dose, and what other medications were you taking? Did it help? What about abnormally low blood pressure and fainting?
