hi, yes if you are on something that is helping you significantly i wouldn't give it up to try something unknown.
As far as how they'd work together, i don't think it is dangerous. They is always a bit of a risk with a new med simply because we may not know everything about it yet. It is a combo i would be personally willing to try.
Will it work? hm, i really think the 5ht2c receptor is not understood well yet. there is some inconsistency is how antagonists and agonists seem to affect it. And part of MAOI benefit may be downregulating the 5ht2c recptor, so it might be somewhat redundant. OR it might not be downregulating enough, so blocking it will prevent the high levels of serotonin from hitting it. It seems worth a try, at least.
as far as abilify, i guess i'd be slightly concerned that the partial agonism of 5ht1a could cause serotonin syndrome, and it is not a strong antagonist at 5ht2 receptors (which prevents serotonin syndrome). i'm not aware of any reports of this happening though.
