Jeroen, speaking as someone who has experienced years of therapy, i can understand what your going through. Things definately get much worse before they get better. Its not easy to face the deficits that have grown within ourselves. The pain, fear, guilt, shame, depression all can become terribly overwhelming. But i want you to know it will get better and it will prove to be invaluable in times to come. There is a process of desensitization that must be endured. It was around 4 or 5 months that I was at my lowest. I felt as though i were trudging through misery with every step i took. But you have already pushed through most of the hard parts. It will begin to turn around for you. You just have to stick with it. You will in time become aware of your emotional responses to things, and having gotten used to facing much of the past can then begin to change how you respond. I went into therapy thinking that there was something magical going to happen, that i would just talk about this sh*t and it would all go away. Unfortunately with this, as with anything in life, it takes alot of hard work. Just dont give up.
