Based on my previous posts, my sleep doctor has increased my Concerta to 72/mg day. Even though 108mg/day is most effective, as with any medication you do want to slowly increase over a period of time. He said that after 2 weeks, I can go to 90 mg/day if needed. It seems like it takes much higher doses of Ritalin than Adderall to feel a response to it. Low doses of the stimulant seems nothing more than a sugar pill. It does not look like going above 108mg is not good, as I think anxiety would start to increase (Caffeine like jitters). But on 72 mg Concerta, 80 mg Strattera, and 200 mg/Provigil-I seem to feel "normal" and awake for most of the day and can tell that my Lamictal, Depakote, Zoloft, and Risperdal combo is really fighting the psychiatric side of things. It's the Narcolepsy at the moment that is causing things to not seem as effective. Once woken up and alert all day-things seem fine. Now if things are working, its not a good time to change things, however I see the psychiatrist on Thursday and will run by Abilify as an Alternative to Risperdal and Lamictal, cutting down on all the meds I have to take. Medicare is pretty good at covering these highly expensive medications (no wonder mental health is hard to treat when people cannot afford the treatments). Keep you guys posted, I hope I am helping bring optimism to this board, as I continue to struggle with the adversity these conditions bring. Discouragement and relapse if I fail at tasks socially and academically is my biggest fear at the moment. -Jake
