I have been taking Klonopin for 10 years to treat nerve pain in my neck from a car accident I was in. Worked like a charm, still does for that. I started at .5 which nearly knocked me out, but over 10 years I'm up to 3mg per day and am trying to taper down.
Most people favor it over many other things for its effectiveness with anxiety. You probably will have to increase it slowly over time as you become tolerant. If something really stressful happens and you take more than you should (within reason) you'll probably just fall asleep.
One thing, I d/c'd it once when I had surgery. I wasn't aware you couldn't and I didn't want to mix it with pain meds. Well the w/d was &*%$! I thought the surgery had killed me. It took me 30 days to figure it out, then I was fine. So my point is, don't go up unless you have to because its difficult to w/d from.
