In some people, SSRIs can produce anxiety at first. OCD is sometimes considered an anxiety disorder, and anxiety is especially involved in compulsions. Have you ever noticed that your anxiety builds up until you finally act out on the compulsion? It then dissipates momentarily.

Are you experiencing a greater number of compulsions per unit time?

Do you have more intense feelings of having to act on your compulsions?
