Im using temazepam a few times a week but am still currently searching for a decent sleep aid for the other nights of the week...seroquel will most likely be the go to but perhaps Lyrica can work?

> mycoHi Myco,
I try the Gabapentin for 3 months at high dosage, and it was at daytime, I never experience sedation on it...even if I was taking Rivotril at the same time, so I guess it's not a good choice as a sleep aid.I try also the Lyrica but not for a long time. It was more powerfull than the Gabapentin and I got a lot of sedation in it, so I was taking it at bedtime...SO I guess the Lyrica can be a more good choice as a sleep aid...
For the Seroquel, I'm now taking 50mg of regular release of Seroquel as a sleep aid. It working well the first month, now, the sedation begin to fade away, but i'm not sure if I want to augment my dosage to 75mg, since I have already a daytime sedation problem with no energy at all...even if I drink 10 coffees... I just feel lazy...with no motivation at all...and it's not related to the Seroquel cause I was like this before I begin to use it at bedtime... My daytime sedation is not worst than before the Seroquel also...
So it's your choice, you can try the Seroquel, the regular release put you asleep in 20 minutes...the first month I was sleeeping more than 7 hours by night...That's probably better than just sleep 1-2 hours like I was doing before...Now I sleep around 4 hours...The antihistamine effect fade away with time...I think that I read somewhere that the dosage of Seroquel can go to 200mg as a sleep aid...not sure about this one.
Some people also answer well to the Trazodone...I try it and it was not a good choice for me, I had too much daytime sedation and strange side-effects the day after...I drop it after 3 days...
Some people can also find the Benadryl helpfull as a sleep aid...but not me... Unisom2, the one made with another drug than the regular Diphenhydramine is aparently more powerfull, it's made with Doxylamine succinate...it'S avaible OCT in some drugstore...sometimes you have to order it...
I hope it can help you...
Take care of you!
Vincent ;-)
