... and there is the saying that I don't like either, but sometimes is true that causality is not always causation. If its hot outside and you've got medications that have potential side effects, well, they may be amplified. I'm not trying to say that you may be right, I'm just offering a different scenario...

Was it diagnosed at an emergency room as Serotonin Syndrome ? I hate to say it, but people with full blown SS normally do not realize they have it until they need an ER visit.


That doesn't mean that it isn't possible to have 'subclinical' SS that doesn't meet the criteria of palliative support in a hospital.

I've had possible subclinical SS for brief periods.


Hyperthermia or the feeling of warmth is not beyond the pale as a side effect of serotonin agents.

TCAs can cause sweating and all sorts of side effects.

I assume you've been through the entire gamut of SSRIs. Have you tried Cymbalta, since you mention Effexor ?
