> My daughter is a recovering addict having found a huge love in prescription opiates. Now her doctor has prescribed Lexapro and I'm concerned that her addiction will start all over again. Does anyone have any information about this? She's too old for me to get any information out of her doctor and I don't trust anything she says. Thanks.<
-----flutterby: I've been on Lexapro for almost a year and am now just getting off of it. Like Mav said-- it's not a recreation drug to take... if you do get side effects they aren't the ones addicts will be looking for. I was extremely tired at first and then became VERY layed back about things-- like my anxiety was mellowed..... but not like being "high" or anything-- I've never craved it.
Good luck with this-- I know how hard it is for loved ones of addicts-- I am a loved one of an addict and grew up with them in my house. :o(
I will hope and wish that things go better for her and especially for you.best to you
