> I just have a quick question about switching meds. This week I took my last doses of two meds, Ludiomil which is a tricyclic type of antidepressant and Trazodone, also for depression. My last day of taking these meds was Monday. I started on Effexor XR on Friday. I was supposed to wait a week in between my last dose of the first meds and starting the Effexor, but instead I waited only 4 days. Should the fact that I only had a 4 day wash-out period before starting the Effexor have any impact on how well it is going to work? I'm just a little worried. Thanks for your responses.
That is a very intelligent concern, but I don't believe that there is any medical basis for the effect you describe. Starting Effexor a few days earlier should not affect in any way its efficacy. Plenty of people do cross-titrations and even direct switches without any waiting period. Can you describe for me your experiences with Ludiomil?
Thanks.
