In reply to anyone have success on a lower Nardil dose?, posted by g_g_g_unit on April 12, 2009, at 22:55:16
A change of 15 every handfull of days may be to quick...you will see in a short time if it was. It's usually recommended to go down slower...but this is individual. You could find a tolerable lower dose that still gives you some benefit then augment with a bit of another med to cover any "gaps" that need filling. Find that dose and see what youre missing at it then go from there.
> after titrating to 75mg of Nardil, and hanging around for 3 weeks, I found the side-effects too intense to continue. so i've been weaning off at 15mg every 4 days. right now i'm at 45mg and finding myself feeling a whole lot better than i did on a higher dose. my OCD is coming back, and i can feel the social anxiety benefits dissipating, but in exchange i can think clearly, and the depersonalization the insomnia/lack of dreaming was causing me has pretty much cleared up. now i was wondering, given that it takes 2 weeks to feel the effects of a raise in dose, does the same rule apply to weaning off? i.e. given that i've only been on 45mg for 4 days, am i not in fact experiencing the real effects of being on 45mg? because otherwise i may consider just staying on 45mg, or even 30mg, just as a bolster against anxiety..
