lyrica is approved for treatment of fibromyalgia and other pain. i believe it's very similar to neurontin (gabapentin), which a lot of people here seem to use. anyway, my pdoc prescribed it last year when i was super-anxious even while on 4mg of xanax a day. unlike benzos, it doesn't work through the GABA pathway, so my pdoc thought it could be a good supplement to the xanax. i stopped taking it regularly because i couldn't feel it working anymore. but when i do take it, it seems to work well. hope this helps!
