I never took more than a micro-introductory dose of Parante, and for various reasons I could not stay on it. It was kind of a dip-the-toes-in-the-water kind of thing, check it out, see if it is worth pursuing at a later date. Right now I am under care for other medical conditions and there is no way to predict if any meds in my future will be compatible with Parnate or not. Besides that, the early side effect of feeling freezing cold with ice hands kind of scared me.

Anyway, my first test was with 5mg Goldshield which I ordered online and came from either Australia or New Zealand. I did that for a week.

Then I had about a 3 week washout with no meds.

The next test was with Glaxo from local pharmacy, also 5mg for a week.

The two did feel different. I liked Goldshield better. It felt somehow cleaner and somehow more stimulating but relaxing at the same time. Glaxo felt somehow dirtier without the zing of Goldshield.

I am very prone to food-induced or med-induced anxiety, so when I refer to the stimulation or zing, it was not of the anxiety type. It felt decent.

I was surprised with Goldshield because while we all expect to see meds take 3 weeks or longer to work, it was already kicking in strong by day 3. Glaxo however never really did kick in the same way Goldshield did.

Again though, very low dose, very short trials. I am extremely sensitive. So the fact I tolerated them at all at any dose is amazing. If I were to ever return to Parnate for a real trial, Goldshield is my choice.

I read somewhere else on the internet that Goldshield is a bit more stimulating. I thought it was, but in a good way, not a anxiety way and not a manic way.
