Nardil causing depression?

Posted by Escopeta87 on May 27, 2009, at 18:46:24

Several weeks ago I was prescribed Nardil at 15mg per day for major social anxiety and depression. The first day of medication was fine, however, as the days went one, Nardil began causing severe depression and general anxiety, despite the fact that it had been working well for my SA. My depression worsened ten fold to a point where I would lie in bed and have suicidal urges for hours. Past regrets resurfaced and was causing a great deal of anxiety for me. Also, the most minor disappointments turned into tremendous ones. After only a week, I had to stop Nardil and went back on 20mg Parnate.

Parnate seems to work somewhat well on my depression, but it's not quite as effective on my SA. I'm wondering, has anyone heard or had a first hand similar experience with Nardil? Could this be considered an initial rough patch of the medication?
