Can Zoloft increase incidence of cystitis?

Posted by Jackster on June 10, 2009, at 17:24:52

Last Sept I switched from Paxil (I'd been on it for 10 years) to Zoloft. In the last 6 months, I've had 3 bouts of cystitis. The latest started as a definite infection (confirmed by urine test) that took two lots of antibiotics to clear up, but I'm still having symptoms 6 weeks later. Tests have shown there is no infection left.

I've been prone to cystitis in the past - but maybe once every couple of years - nothing like every couple of months. I'm wondering if the Zoloft is the culprit? I've also been having bad gastric reflux since I started it.

Thanks
Jax
