Ok, I have read a lot on this board that people don't think you should take 2 anti-psychotics because of the harsh side effects.
Here is my problem. I have a bladder disorder and the antidepressants cause my bladder pain (I have IC). My bladder doc told me that the drugs that effect serotonin will usually bother IC patients's bladders. Since I have tried all of the SSRIs and SNRIs and a few of the old antidepressants my Pdoc has me on the following:
100mg Seroquel at night
1mg of Abilify during day
1mg of Klonopin as (taken as .5mg as needed)The Seroquel really helps me sleep, with my anxiety and also with my depression.
He added small dose Abilify to help with the depression and keep me from being so sleepy during the day from the Seroquel.
Sometimes if I take 2mg of Abilify I experience some anxiety, hyperness (akatheisa?).
Will I really do myself harm by taking Seroquel and Abilify together?
I really need to compact depression and anxiety using non-traditional meds.
I have a more mild form of BP, but this disease effects my whole life and all of my relationships. If I am too hyper and anxious people think I am so "full of life and friendly" and if I get depressed I feel paralyzed by my anxiety.
Any suggestions?
If its safer to drop one of the anti-psychotics, I would be willing to do that, but I really need another med.
Are there other drugs I should looks at with my doc?
