Is all caps necessary ? Not trying to bash you Jan, but I read that and it seemed scarier with it.

No its true, medications can and do cause liver damage, but the most obvious is acetaminophen (paracetamol).

Unfortunately though in a few years this may lead to nannying and a reduction of the availability or amount of acetaminophen in pharmacies.

As for opiods, low potency ones (i.e. codeine) are often mixed with acetaminophen (sometimes by law in countries, either Rx or ask-your-pharmacist-otc) and this can lead to serious damage if someone abuses codeine mixtures.
