...and I just read it coincidentally. Also provides -rational- measures for tick-born diseases, of which Lyme is not the only one, merely the most commonly heard. Concentration maps of diseases and ranges of species that cause different diseases are given.
Lyme is, as suspected, found in the highest stages where it was originally found, stretching from bos-wash through CT (Lyme, CT) up to part of Maine. A slight concentration in the Madison-Chicago area. All consistent with climate.
And doxycycline, yes is most associated with the use for tick-borne diseases that can be treated with antibiotics, but the maximum stated is about a month, not years which could lead to serious complications.
Certain antibiotics, such as erythromycin, vancomycin, and the quinines for malaria are noted for oto-toxicity. That is, they can cause substantial deafness while on them, or permanently, as some cases have been known.
But yes, it is a reasonable presentation.Just throwing in my 2c.
